Singer, performer born Desire Luzinda in Wandegeya in Kampala City, on the 15th August 1984, to parents Mr. Jamada Luzinda and Mrs. Imelda Byanyima Luzinda. Jamada, the son of Mr. Salim Kizito is a qualified teacher at Kings College Budo and retired politician. Desire Luzinda's mother is a qualified agriculturalist and is of an Ankole descent. After their marriage in 1979, the couple gave birth to six girls and one boy. Desire Luzinda was born years later, The fifth of seven children, Desire Luzinda learned early on how to handle her role as the middle child, admitting that she was "the sissy of the family" who often used her feminine wiles to get her way.

Asked where she studied from, she said ‘I went to Buganda Road Primary School for all Primary section, Omega College for Ordinary
Level, Makerere High School for Advanced Level and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Micro Finance.

Desire Luzinda discovered her singing talent at the age of five and has
been singing since then. She was inspired by some of the greatest artists
like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston.

She sang in school choir as well as Makerere Full Gospel church.
Became a TV presenter at one of the leading television, WBS-Wava
Broadcasting Station- for a period of 4years (2004-2008)

Kicked off my music career in 2006 with sponsorship from WBS and a
recording deal at FENON RECORD/STUDIO with 2 less ground
breaking songs: WEEKEND PARTY AND NAKOWA EMIKWANO
2007 was a fruitful year for me as i came back with a BANG!

NKOMYWEWO AND MUBIITE were the songs that brought light in my
career as people began to know who Desire was and her capability vocal
wise.

Then followed BINGI a Reggae song written by one of the biggest
musicians in Uganda-BEBE COOL-

2008 I released BASWAZE, written by the most popular writer in Uganda- SYLVER KYAGULANYI, another hit that swept Ugandans off their feet.

With 4 hits i managed to put down an 8 track album that has songs link
Kankutwale, Nzikiriza, and launched it on the 13th of June 2008. It was a
great success and strong foundation for the then NEW KID ON THE
BLOCK.

In the same year I was nominated for BEST FEMALE ARTIST and BEST
NEW ARTIST what a controversy!
I've had lots of performances, IN and OUT of the country, the US; UK am
putting another album together’ and THE SKY IS THE LIMIT FOR DESIRE.
